Corison
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The cornerstone of Corison Winery since our founding in 1987, it is sourced from three great benchland vineyards between Rutherford and St. Helena. It has long been prized for power, elegance and longevity.
Our newest vineyard-designate was purchased in 2015, though we had sourced it for over a quarter-century. It has long contributed a pretty, bright core of cherries and blueberries to our Napa Valley Cabernet. We select this very limited bottling from our favorite barrels.
From our estate vineyard surrounding the winery. Planted in 1971 on St. George rootstock, it is one of the last old Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in the Napa Valley. Its scraggly clusters of tiny berries yield extremely limited quantities of dark, concentrated and aromatic single-vineyard wine that speaks eloquently of place.
Sunbasket Vineyard estate Cabernet Franc. Rich and aromatic. Black plums and allspice. Classic Franc pencil-lead aromas play with violet perfume and blueberry fruit in this lovely wine. Only four barrels are made each year.
Selene is a new label at Corison, created by Rose and Grace, Cathy and William’s daughters. The wine is a blend of our estate Kronos Vineyard, which has historically been off the table for blending, and our estate Sunbasket Vineyard. The wine seamlessly integrates the brightness of Sunbasket with the darker brooding quality of Kronos.
Inspired by the wines of Alsace, which feature aromatic Germanic white varieties and French winemaking sensibilities, this wine is totally dry and fresh. It cries out for food.
This wine is inspired by the trocken Rieslings of Germany, with Honeycrisp apple, pear and stone fruit flavors joining apricot and honey notes, the result of some lovely Botrytis. Orange blossom perfume lights up the aromas.
